updated everyday make up routine

It has been such a long time since I dedicated an entire post to make up, so hopefully I've still got it because I've added some lovely new items into my make up collection recently, so I thought I would write about them as I really like them!

Starting with primers, I'm not going to spend too long on these as I've used both of them for quite a few years now, and written about them before. I still love the Wet n Wild Hydrating Prime Focus Hydrating Serum, which I've written about here if you'd like to read more about it, and I'm still obsessed with the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, even more so now as I've added more Charlotte Tilbury items into my everyday look, and I think there's something to be said for using a lot of the same brand in your make up routine - it really helps everything melt together. I've written about it here and here if you'd like to know more!

In terms of base products, I still use the Colourpop Pretty Fresh Tinted Moisturiser - I've used it for 2 years now and I still haven't found anything that I love more. I go more into detail about it in this blog post. I apply it with a beauty sponge now instead of my fingertips, as I've noticed that this helps everything look more seamless and smooth. Now that I've covered the parts of my routine which have stayed the same for years, we can get into the new additions!

I mentioned in my 'things I will not be doing in 2022' , post that I was learning some new techniques such as applying my concealer in a more lifting manner, and the same with my blush. For concealer, I use the Revolution Illuminating Eye Bright concealer, which is apparently a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury 'Magic Away', I haven't tried that one so I can't compare but I can recommend the Revolution one - I love the sponge applicator and it's really creamy and blendable. I mentioned in that same post that I really wanted to get my hands on the Charlotte Tilbury Pinkgasm cream blush/highlighter, and I finally have. I absolutely love it and I understand why it's constantly sold out, now. It's such a pretty and glowy product - it is a blush but it has enough sheen and dewiness that you could wear it without highlighter, (I do add another highlighter on top of this just because I like to, but you don't have to!) I recommend the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Light Wand in 'Spotlight', I go between that one and powder highlight from the Kiko Holiday Fable 2021 collection which I think will likely be discontinued soon, so I won't talk about it too much, but all Kiko highlighters are gorgeous, and much more affordable than Charlotte Tilbury. I've also been using one of their large baked bronzers as part of my routine and I love that too, it's one of their bronzers from a few Christmases ago, but they bring out the same bronzer in different limited edition packaging all the time and I always recommend picking one up.

Coming away from Charlotte Tilbury for a moment, I wanted to mention another blush I've recently discovered because Rare Beauty is (finally!!) in the UK. I picked up the shade 'Joy' from the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush line, and it is absolutely stunning. It's incredibly pigmented so you barely need any at all so it'll last forever, the shade is such a pretty coral, it's entirely weightless and it leaves such a beautiful, dewy finish on the skin. I could rave about it for days. I recently had my make up trial for our wedding reception and I asked my artist to use it on me - she also loved it so we'll be using it for the wedding - along with the Lip Soufflé Matte Cream in 'Inspire' from the same brand, which is again, so pillowy soft and beautiful. I'm absolutely obsessed.

While I'm on the topic of lipsticks, one of my closest friends recently gifted me 'Gracefully Pink' by Charlotte Tilbury, and I've pretty much worn it every single day for about three months. It's one of her Matte Revolution lipsticks but it honestly isn't drying at all, it's so soft and silky even though it does last all day for me. It's also a beautiful pink, and it's super flattering. I love it. It also smells like vanilla!

Moving on to mascara, I'm very late to the game on this one but I finally picked up the Pillow Talk Mascara - it's the most lengthening mascara I've ever tried. I originally got it as a sample when I spent a certain amount on some of the other Tilbury items in this post, and I liked it so much that I bought the travel size of it so that I have more than the teeny tiny sample size. I really like the shape of the wand, it's dual-sided and quite thin so you get a really lifted look. It's already my favourite mascara and I've only had it for a few weeks, so there you go.

Finally, I've known for years that I should probably switch to the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray because it is so raved about - I finally caved and it is so stunning. It really melts all of my make up into my skin so flawlessly, (it really lives up to its name), and it makes everything look stunning all day - I really love it. It has such a light, fresh scent to it too which I also adore.

Thank you for reading about how much I love Charlotte Tilbury products for 5 whole minutes! I absolutely love my updated make up routine - it's so quick, (10 minutes or less!), yet glowy and pretty and it makes me feel like my best self, which we all deserve to!

Let me know if I do still have it when it comes to writing about make up recommendations! ♡
