'the orange' - tattoo twenty seven 🍊

Hi friends! This will be a short little post about what is (currently) the final tattoo on my tattoo ideas notes app list, which is crazy, because I've had at least one, if not ten, tattoo ideas on there at all times since the end of 2020, so this is wild. This one was done by the lovely Viv during her guest spot at Studio Luna Nova last week, which is very sweet since she also did my first teeny tiny tattoo three and a half years ago now. I was convinced that I'd be a 'one and done' girly and now I essentially have two full sticker sleeves (sorry, mum!) which I'm so proud of, so there will be some videos of what they look like later in the blog post too!

I would say that I'm done with my sticker sleeves but something I'm learning at the moment is that the more gap fillers you get, the more gaps you see, it's like watching bees frolicking around in a bush in the summertime - you see one and then you see thousands!

So. There's definitely room for me to fit in a few TTPD (The Tortured Poets Department) tattoos when my brain conjures up a design for the album. If you're one of my tattooists and you're reading this, this is me kindly asking for a TTPD flash sheet so that I can get them all, thank you!

This addition is a little orange segment on my arm, which I absolutely love, and I got it to represent Wendy Cope's poem 'the orange', which is about appreciating a joyful moment with friends, and life becoming more fun and meaningful when looking around and recognising the little glimmers of happy moments in life like a peaceful walk in a park, finishing all the jobs on your to do list, and having time left over for fun afterwards, or sharing an orange between yourself and friends. As someone who is constantly adding entries into my weekly grateful diary, and looking for ways to romanticise my everyday life, this poem really spoke to me. It's a beautiful poem, tattoo, and life, and I'm so glad I exist.
