tattoo #7 - 'dream impossible dreams' 🌟

Updated: Feb 7, 2022

Hi friends, we're back at it with my first tattoo of the year, (and of the month - I actually have another three booked in over the next month so if you like tattoo content, you're in the right place!)

This tattoo is a Taylor Swift lyric from the song 'Starlight', which is one of the absolute cutest songs and you need to listen to it if you haven't already. It's a really fun song based on a black and white photograph that Taylor Swift saw of a young couple dancing, and it just made her imagine what a fun night they must've been having - so it's a really cute song about having fun under the starlight, and dreaming about how beautiful life could be. I particularly love the lead into the chorus which features the lines 'don't you see the starlight, starlight? don't you dream impossible things?' This changes to 'dream impossible dreams' in the final breakdown of the song, and that's part of the line that I have tattooed.

Even if you're not a Taylor Swift fan, I still think it's a super cute mantra to walk around with, as it's super positive and hopeful!

I have it written in cursive on my right inner forearm, in the same font as my Daylight tattoo which is on my opposite upper arm, and I kind of love that I now have a tattoo from both Daylight and Starlight. How fun. I absolutely love it, and I particularly love the shooting star next to it as well - so pretty! It's on the same arm as my saturn tattoo, and I love that I'm seemingly developing a cosmic themed right arm, as the final tattoo on my list which I'm yet to book in is also going to feature stars but in more of a personal way so I'm very excited about booking that one in once I've had a small break from my upcoming three.

This one took about an hour, and on the pain scale I'd say it was about a 3, except for the shooting star which was very weirdly about a 7 for me and I'm not sure why! I'd heard that tattoos do hurt more the lower down past the crook of your arm that you go so maybe that's why, since the shooting star is right at the top of my wrist, so I'm guessing my skin is just a little more sensitive there. I'd always rather a tattoo start off a bit more painful and then get much easier like this one did though, so it was still a very good experience!

This one doesn't have a huge amount of backstory - it's just an adorable song which makes me feel happy. I have always been such an optimistic dreamer of a person, so I love that I carry that energy around with me on my arm now. We should all aim to do more things which make us feel like dancing, like we're made of starlight.☺️

As always, I've popped this into the 'tattoos' category on my blog, so feel free to have a scroll through that if you missed any of my previous run-downs of my tattoos.

See you next week for another tattoo post! xo
