New Colourpop Crushes

Updated: Oct 10, 2020

I'm obsessed with Colourpop, and I'm not at all ashamed to say it. I have been in love with the brand ever since the purchase of my first super shock shadow. They create such beautiful, affordable make up which I'll continue to buy even though I have to pay international shipping. It's still worth it.

Recently, I did a Cruelty Free Make Up Favourited post where I mentioned the 'Horse and Carriage' highlighter from their Cinderella branch of the Disney Designer collection, which is, very sadly, limited edition. So me being me, I thought I would stock up on another one before it becomes discontinued. As I was searching through the website for it, I found this absolutely gorgeous set, which includes the highlighter and a lovely 'Prince Charming' liquid lux lipstick.

Pictured here with the 'Ariel' lux lipstick because I couldn't resist it. LOOK at this stunning gold packaging with all of the princesses' signatures on it. I mean, who could?

I'd never tried the liquid lux or the lux bullet lipstick formulas before so I was incredibly intrigued and eagerly awaiting their arrival.

Still not over this packaging.

When my parcel did arrive, a mere 12 days since I placed my order, Colourpop had included an adorable 'Sorry I'm late' gift, and considering that I live in the UK, I didn't think 2 weeks was late at all! You're the cutest, Colourpop.

Needless to say, I'm still absolutely obsessed with the 'Horse and Carriage' highlight, but I was pleasantly surprised by the lux formulas, too.

Over the past few years, I've worn nothing but the Colourpop Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks, so I was nervous about giving something new a shot. Would they be too drying? Would they need topping up, unlike the USL's?

The lux liquid lipsticks are light in texture, but beautifully pigmented. They have a very cushiony, almost velvet texture on the lips which is very comfortable. Although because it's a light formula, it does need to be topped up after eating, which I don't mind. Plus, they smell very subtly sweet like fruity pebbles. I'm obsessed and would absolutely buy more colours from this range.

The 'Ariel' lux lipstick is also very creamy and pretty. I seldom purchase nudes because I worry that they'll wash me out, but because this one has more of a peachy undertone, it holds up perfectly.

Going back to the Cruelty Free Favorites Post which I mentioned earlier, I also gushed about my adoration for the 'Pretty Fresh' Hyaluronic Acid Setting Spray in that post. I recently bought the tinted moisturiser from that range, and I have to give it an honorary mention here. I've only worn it a few times, but it makes my skin look so naturally dewy and fresh. I actually feel like my make up lasts longer when I wear this, especially when paired together with the Pretty Fresh Setting Spray which just melts everything into the face so that nothing looks cakey. It's a dream.

It does contain coconut water to be aware of this if your skin is sensitive to coconut. I've never bought foundation/concealers online, as I like to swatch the shades in person. However, I used their swatches on the website to match myself and I think it turned out pretty well! I'm wearing Medium 11N here, and I love it. If you're worried, remember that it is only a tinted moisturiser with little coverage so you may get away with it being a little bit off. As someone that wears a light CC cream most days anyway, I love this for a natural my-skin-but-better look.

So, those are my latest Colourpop crushes. Which brand are you crushing on at the moment? xo
