A quick update on last week's digital boundary post: it has now been one month since I started using app timers on my phone, and my average daily screen time has now gone down from 7 hours, 13 minutes to 5 hours and 30 minutes. In the words of Andrea Swift, 'that's my baby and I'm proud.' How exciting! If I can do it, you can do it.
On to the post.
If you know me well, then you know I absolutely love getting dressed up and taking photos, especially in lockdown, so my virtual bridal shower last week Friday was the perfect opportunity for this! It was really fun and easy to do, so keep reading if you'd like to know how I did it, and to see some of my favourite photos from the shoot!

I've recently really been enjoying photography, so a few weeks ago, I bought some pretty inexpensive, but effective, softbox lights - I bought mine on eBay to support small so the listing has of course been taken down, but it's the ESDDI Softbox Photography Lighting Kit 20 x 28 inch with 800W and 5500K Soft Lights, if you're interested in purchasing them for your own professionally lit at-home photoshoots. You can see what they look like in action in this TikTok which I created during the shoot - I'm really loving documenting my photoshoots on TikTok at the moment!
As for props, this was really easy as when we first got engaged, I sent all of my bridesmaids a cute glittery 'bridesmaid' pin, and a matching sash for them to wear. Naturally, I thought they were too cute for me to not get some for myself, so I bought the matching 'bride to be' merch for myself.
You can find my pin here

I then bought the 'sip sip hooray' bunting from WH Smith while I was purchasing Stephen's Valentine's Day card a few days ago, along with the photobooth props, (because it helps with posing if you have something to hold!), which I absolutely love because they can be re-used during the actual wedding, so they were very much worth it - and that's all it took! Some bunting, some props, cute lighting and a very willing fiancé behind the camera! All I had to do after that was import the photos on to my phone using the Canon Connect App. So simple!
If you have a Canon camera like us, you can also purchase a wireless remote control which you can hide in your hand and take the photos that way, if you're doing the photoshoot on your own!
I loved the idea of wearing white for my bridal shower, so I bought my white satin corset from Depop, (PrettyLittleThing, originally), paired with my pearl embellished ripped jeans which I already owned.
I absolutely love the way that the photos came out, and it was a really special way to make the day feel even more exciting than it already was.
The Zoom call was incredibly exciting and fun. I found a really cute 'how well do you know the bride?' question sheet - there are literally thousands of these scattered around on Pinterest, or even Google Images, and it was a really fun game to play to break the ice, if you're also someone who would like your bridal party to meet each other during the pandemic.
Would you have an at-home photoshoot?! xo
