Fourth Ray Skincare Favourites

Updated: Jan 16, 2021

I did a Skincare Favourites at the beginning of this year, and while I still absolutely adore everything on that list, I thought it was a good time to let you know about a few more favourites which I've acquired since then.

For my birthday, I treated myself to a few things from Colourpop, and a selection of items from their sister company which is a vegan and cruelty free skincare brand, 'Fourth Ray Beauty'. I bought their 'Dew Crew' hydrating kit, as all of the products featured hyaluronic acid, and if you know me, you know that I've been obsessed with all these hyaluronic acid for about a year, now. I have dry skin, so anything that works to give me fresher, glowier, dewier skin is straight into my basket. It's like a buzz word for me, and I'm obsessed.

I've used the Colourpop Hyaluronic Acid 'Pretty Fresh' tinted moisturiser everyday for almost a year now, so I feel like it fits in perfectly with my new skincare bits, now. My skin will hopefully never be cracked and dry again. Take that, Winter.

The kit includes the 'Rainfall 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum', which I apply a few drops of to my skin in the morning and before bed. The description of it says that it leaves the skin with a 'bouncy, youthful-looking complexion', and even though I'm only 26, it feels like it's about tine to start developing an actual skincare routine with serums and other potions like this. I like the way that it makes my skin appear glowier, even after I put my make up on top of it, and that's good enough for me!

At the end of my make up routine, I've also been using the 'Dew It' Hydrating Mist which I don't think has an effect on the longevity of my make up, (it doesn't claim to). but again, it does add a refreshing dose of healthy glow and makes all of my powder products melt into my skin, leaving a gorgeous flawless finish, which I love.

The last item in the kit is the 'Soak It Up' Hydrating Mask, which is packed with Marine Algae, and Aloe, ingredients guaranteed to take your skin into a state of deep hydration. I love that the mask is a cute pale blue colour. That alone makes me feel calm and relaxed, the way that any self-care item should. The whole range also smells quite strongly of cucumbers so it is super relaxing and spa-like.

I love the whole kit, and the only thing I wish for it is that the items would be bigger. As you can probably tell from the photos, the serum is a little under 15ml, the mist is 30ml, and the mask is a tiny 15g tub. I hope that they make full sized products of these because I absolutely would purchase them.

Just because I know some of you will be curious about the rest of my birthday order, I also added this adorable 'QT mark' heart stamp from Colourpop. It's just a bit of fun, and it adds a little extra cuteness to every make up look. I'm also wearing the Colourpop super shock shadow in 'Sequin' on my eyes, and the Colourpop x Disney Lipstick in 'Ariel'. I had unintentionally created a full face of Colourpop make up look on this day.

I also added in this hot pink pressed glitter in the shade 'band tee' to my order because it reminded me of the pink glitter Taylor Swift wears in a heart shape around her eye on the album cover for 'Lover'. Yep. I'm that kind of person.

What are your Holy Grail Skincare Items?! xo
