Favourite Summer Outfits

Updated: Oct 10, 2020

Important Resources:

So even though we have all been at home for half a year now, I've still enjoyed twirling around in pretty outfits in my garden, and strutting through the aisles of my local Tesco Express.

As you'll remember from my last Fashion post at the end of last year, a lot of my clothing is from Quiz so prepare yourselves for that. Still not sponsored!

Disclaimer: this post is not intended to make anyone rush out to shops to buy new clothes - we all know how bad that is for the environment, but I buy clothes so rarely and keep them forever! Some of the outfits might just inspire you to wear some things which you forgot you had in your own wardrobe - that would be fantastic!

My main obsession this Summer definitely has to be organza sleeves. I have so many items of clothing with this kind of sleeve, now. My favourite is this beautiful Cinderella blue one, with polka dot sleeves. The sheer sleeves really make any outfit look a touch more elegant and cute. I also love these three from New Look - especially the white with the daisy detailing on the sleeves. The black floral can be found here.

Same organza style, but this one (currently sold out in white) is a long-sleeved bodysuit! Perfect for wearing under jeans/skirts, without the fear of it coming untucked, as with a normal t-shirt. I absolutely love the floral lace detail along the sleeves, which is so pretty and delicate. (you'll notice my hair is back to black in this photo - I finally had my post-shielding appointment, and it's quite fun having my natural hair colour for the first time since 2015!)

This plunge neckline floral playsuit from New Look. This one made me excited for family BBQ parties when I bought it, but I've still very much enjoyed wearing it around the house, especially during the recent UK heatwave! A very comfortable Summer piece.

If you know me well, then you know pastel colours are my favourite. I throw on this mint polka dot jumpsuit ALL the time. It's one of the comfiest pieces of clothing I own due to the culotte style which makes them very breezy and perfect for the hot weather. I also love that it comes with a belt (which you can wear as a headband if you're feeling co-ordinated and fancy!) One of my favourite colours at the moment. These photos are from a garden photoshoot I did to show off one of my friends' new bags from her collection. I love it! Her insta is @itsnotfashionstore

This leads me to another item which is in a similar aqua colour - I love this floaty midi dress - the little flowers are so cute, and you'll remember that I love dresses with slits in them, for a little added sass and laidback-ness.

Another dress I've been loving (but not as regularly) is this satin dress. I wore the red version of it on NYE last year, and loved it so much that I bought the purple the next day. I had it earmarked for my fiancé's birthday this year, but since that was cancelled, I had put it away until the 'world was safe again'. For our most recent at-home date night, I decided that if lockdown has taught me anything, it's that life can change in an instant, so I wore the damn dress. I felt absolutely stunning in it, so we took some photos in the garden and then made dinner together. I hope that you wear something you've been 'saving' soon!

This adorable coral polka dot dress was a replacement buy when one of my favourite dresses didn't fit me anymore, (which is absolutely okay - I'm a growing woman!), and I'm obsessed with how cute and lightweight it is due to the tiered frills at the bottom of the dress. Another perfect piece of clothing for twirling around the garden in.

The good news is that there is always next Summer to take all of these gorgeous outfits into the world, instead of wearing them at home, and I look forward to doing so.

Which outfits have been your favourites during lockdown?!
