Cherrelle & Cheryl: Black Owned Candle Review

Updated: Oct 10, 2020

Announcement: I now have an Instagram account which is dedicated to this blog! If you have Instagram and enjoy reading my blog posts, I would love it if you followed, so you can stay up to date with sneak peaks of upcoming posts, etc. I really want to get to know my readers better!

On to the review...

Anyone who knows me well knows that I love candles. I purchase candles a lot, and often ask for them as gifts as they genuinely lift my mood, and make me feel better. There is nothing like relaxing on the sofa with a gorgeous candle lit.

Cherelle & Cheryl are twin sisters, based in the UK who create beautiful, unique candles. The candles are soy, entirely vegan, and cruelty free so they're exactly my cup of tea. I absolutely love that you have the option to customise the label which arrives on your candle, as I've not seen a company who has done that before.

They have a range of phrases and affirmations which you can choose from - as you can see, I went for 'Sweet Like Plantain' because that reminds me of my Caribbean roots, and my undying love for plantain chips - but some of my other favourites are 'Pimms o'Clock', 'Be The Exception', and 'Worth More Than Rubies.'

You can then choose which scent you want your candle to be. I went for 'Strawberry Fizz', which is very accurately described as 'a distinctive combination of ripe strawberries and raspberries, with notes of Champagne and roses'. It honestly tastes good enough to eat, and after reading the scent descriptions on their website, I think I'll definitely be signing up for a few more.

The following photos are taken from the Cherrelle and Cheryl instagram, but I had to share because they are so stunning. These show off their 'Salted Caramel' and 'Coconut Lime' scents.

I love how sleek the white glass bottle is, with the black writing and glossy black lid. The packaging makes the candles feel a lot more luxe and expensive than they are.

Their most recent addition is their 'cocoa butter glow' candle which launched last week, and also sounds incredible...

Which scent would you be most drawn to?! xo
