NOTE: At the time of writing, I was unaware of how problematic Beauty Bakerie is, and what I know now was not common knowledge at the time. As important as it is to support Black owned businesses, we need to make sure we stick to supporting brands who also support other Black creators and employees. Please do your research before purchasing anything, as I will now do.

I'm so excited to be sharing some of my new favourite purchases today, they're all cruelty free as always, and Black owned as I know it's so important to be supporting and amplifying Black voices on my blog and include them in my everyday life.

If you want to know how I got this beautifully pigmented glowy look using mostly Black owned make up - keep reading!

I SO wanted this to be a full face of make up, but some of the items I wanted were a) sold out (the Beauty Bakerie eyelash icing mascara - an adorable concept!), or b) really sadly wouldn't ship to the UK (Beauty Bakerie Spray Your Grace 'Baking' Spray - I'm assuming because of the aerosol can? Let me know if you know any Black owned alternatives to this!)

However, I'm absolutely in love with what I did manage to find, but I will also be linking some other brands/items that I would love once they're back in stock, at the end of this blog post.

On to the haul!

Firstly, I'd heard such lovely things about Beauty Bakerie and Cashmere Nicole, the founder of the brand. Cashmere started the adorable sweets themed brand after bravely battling breast cancer, but she didn't let this experience change her outlook on the world. I'm in love with the brand's inspirational motto, 'be better, not bitter' which really speaks to the kind of empowering, strong woman that Cashmere is. Her endeavour to sweeten the life of others really comes through in her branding, packaging, and shade names.

The first thing I have to rave about is the shipping time. From basket to front door took a mere SIX days, and considering that the company is based in Southern California, that's incredibly fast and I have no idea how they do it.

I'm also impressed with the colour matcher on the website. I just tapped a few buttons on the 'what is your shade group' section of the front page, and arrived at my perfectly selected shade of concealer. For reference, I'm in the shade '010 Butter Back Off', and I love how easy it was to find my match.

As a side note, for any of you who are struggling to find your shade in anything, I love Findation - You enter in the shades you wear in make up that you already own, and it will match you to what shade you would be in other brands/products. It's genius.

I picked up the 'Instabake' Hydrating Concealer, and I am so here for this holographic packaging, and lid. I found the applicator so different to anything else I'd used before - and was instantly intrigued by it. It fits perfectly in the undereye area to effortlessly sweep away dark circles or evidence of my late night. The product description sings praises of the active ingredient fortified from the South American vegetable cassava, which can smooth, soothe, and hydrate the skin. I love a good 3 in 1 - especially the hydrating element as I have dry skin. One thing I will say is that this concealer is incredibly fast drying - I usually dot my concealer around my face and then blend it out, but with this one, you'll want to blend right away as this formula stays where it's put!

If you read my last blog post, you know that I only very recently started getting into blush, so I thought now would be a good time to pick up a blush palette so I can really experiment. I couldn't resist this Beauty Bakerie Scoops Élysées Palette. It comes with 3 blush shades, and one gorgeous golden highlighter. The colours are all highly pigmented, long lasting, and vibrant. There is a little bit of kick up when you dip your brush in, but I don't personally mind this too much. Again, this packaging is the most adorable and would brighten up anyone's dressing table.

As a side note, my favourite brush for blush is the Real Techniques 002 Brush from the 'Brush Crush 3' collection, which is incredibly soft with a holographic rainbow handle. Stunning.

The last thing which I picked up from Beauty Bakerie was this Mini Cake Pop Lippie in the shade 'Picnic on Peachtree'. This is a stunning bold orange lipstick, and although it's a matte - it doesn't feel drying on the lips at all. One thing to note is that they are incredibly tiny - which is really cute - but they are very small, and I wish that they were bigger because I already know that I'm going to be wearing this shade a lot!

I also picked up this Sun Stalk'r bronzer from Fenty Beauty in the shade 'Private Island' and I love it for a matte pop of warmth on my cheeks. I'm not usually a fan of matte bronzers, but with my Beauty Bakerie highlight being so radiant, this was probably a good pick for this make up look. However, the bronzer does feature mango and papaya extracts which claims to make the skin look healthy and naturally glowing, which I'll never say no to.

Again, I love the packaging on this - a beautiful mirrored rose gold compact with the classic octagonal shape as with all Fenty powder products! It was kind of difficult to photograph as it's so reflective, but I gave it my best shot!
